Are you a passionate Social Sciences teacher looking to integrate ethical, philosophical, and faith-based perspectives into your curriculum leadership?

Do you want to develop socially responsible, reflective learners in a school that values both academic excellence and moral education?

The Role

A respected faith-based secondary school in Bristol is seeking a Curriculum Lead for Social Sciences to guide an ethically driven, values-led curriculum across Sociology, Psychology, and Politics. You will play a pivotal role in helping students explore social justice, global issues, and moral reasoning, ensuring that they are well-prepared for both academic success and responsible citizenship.

Why Join This School?

  • Faith-Centered Approach: Teach Social Sciences through the lens of moral philosophy, ethics, and social responsibility.
  • Strong Community Ethos: Work in a values-driven environment where student well-being and character development are prioritized.
  • Leadership Development: Benefit from CPD, faith-based leadership training, and career progression opportunities.
  • Interdisciplinary Learning: Collaborate with RE, Citizenship, and Humanities departments to explore social and ethical issues.
  • Inspirational Learning Environment: Engage students through guest lectures, charity initiatives, and social justice projects.

Your Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a rigorous, values-driven Social Sciences curriculum, ensuring that it aligns with both academic standards and ethical learning.
  • Teach Sociology, Psychology, or Politics at KS3 to KS5, encouraging students to engage critically with the world around them.
  • Support staff in delivering inclusive and reflective teaching, ensuring that diverse perspectives are represented.
  • Build strong community partnerships with faith organizations, charities, and policymakers to enhance real-world learning.
  • Organize extracurricular opportunities, such as debate clubs, social justice initiatives, and interfaith discussions.

Who We’re Looking For

  • A qualified Social Sciences teacher (QTS) with experience in Sociology, Psychology, or Politics.
  • A leader with a passion for ethical education and values-based curriculum development.
  • A team player who thrives in a faith-based, supportive school environment.
  • An educator committed to fostering social awareness, critical thinking, and responsible citizenship.
