Job Description:

This school is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Social Science Teacher to join their thriving sixth form and upper school team. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about helping students explore human behaviour, society, and the forces that shape the world we live in. Beginning September 2025.

Duties as a Social Science Teacher:

1. Deliver engaging, thought-provoking lessons that develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
2. Prepare students for success in GCSEs, A-Levels, or vocational qualifications.
3. Support students’ understanding of social theories, real-world case studies, and research methods.
4. Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities such as debates, research projects, or guest speakers.
5. Foster an inclusive, respectful classroom environment where students feel safe to explore complex ideas.

Ideal Social Science Teacher:

1. Holds QTS and a relevant degree in a Social Science discipline.
2. Has strong subject knowledge and a passion for education and social justice.
3. Is an effective communicator who builds strong rapport with students.
4. Has experience teaching KS4 and/or KS5 (Sociology/Psychology/Health & Social Care/Criminology preferred).
5. Is reflective, committed to improvement, and a positive team player.
