Job summary

GSL Education is seeking a Social Science Cover Supervisor to join a comprehensive girls’ school and sixth form in Tower Hamlets. The role involves supervising classes in the absence of teachers, delivering pre-set work, and maintaining high behavioural standards to keep students engaged.

The ideal candidate will have experience in a similar role, strong classroom management, and a good understanding of Social Science subjects.

Qualifications

• Experience as Social Science Cover Supervisor or similar school-based role.
• Experience with secondary-age students is essential.
• Understanding of Sociology or Psychology desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• Reliable, organised and professional approach to work.
• Safeguarding commitment and child welfare knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lessons across different year groups.

Salary: £175 - £265 per day

GSL Education is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Social Science Cover Supervisor to join a comprehensive girls’ school and sixth form in Tower Hamlets. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident Social Science Cover Supervisor who enjoys working with young people and can create a calm, positive and focused classroom environment.

As a Social Science Cover Supervisor, you will play an important role in supporting students’ learning by supervising classes in the absence of their usual teachers. You will deliver pre-set work, maintain high standards of behaviour and ensure students remain engaged and focused throughout each lesson.

Requirements

• Previous experience working as a Social Science Cover Supervisor or in a similar school-based role.
• Experience working with secondary-age students is essential.
• A good understanding of Social Science subjects such as Sociology, Psychology or related areas is desirable.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• The ability to build positive relationships with students and staff.
• A reliable, organised and professional approach to work.
• QTS is desirable, but not essential.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• The ability to work Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.
