Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for an experienced personal assistant to support a young boy with Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, and PICA. The role involves 16 hours per week during school holidays in Westerhope, Newcastle Upon Tyne, at a rate of £14.00 per hour.

Jamie requires full supervision due to his condition, including managing non-food item ingestion and compulsions related to drinking. He lives with his family and has three dogs. Jamie has no awareness of danger and may run at any opportunity. Experience working with children with autism is essential.

Jamie enjoys sensory activities like trampolining, swimming, and trips to local parks. He uses a specialist buggy and values routine highly. As he is non-verbal, he communicates through gestures and leading. The role includes supporting Jamie in community access, engaging in activities, and personal care such as nappy changing.

While a full clean UK driving license is preferred, it is not essential, as Jamie uses public transport and enjoys trips on the metro.
