Job summary

Disability North in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking an experienced Personal Assistant to support Andrea, a lady with mobility needs who enjoys outdoor activities, visits to the pool, and caring for animals. You may assist with light domestic tasks, medication reminders, and occasional errands, providing cheerful companionship.

Hours are 7–10 per week, including weekends, with the exact hours arranged with the employer. Rate is £14.50 per hour; driver preferred but not essential.

• Accompany Andrea to local shops, cafes, and countryside outings.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Personal Assistant for a lovely lady called Andrea, who has various mobility and balance conditions which result in severe episodes of pain and flare ups that can cause periods of time where she is immobile. Andrea lives with her husband Alan and their adopted cat “Rosie” who chose to invite itself to live with them.

Andrea is looking for someone with a cheerful outlook on life and who enjoys being outdoors in nature, she would like you to support her to explore activities like wild swimming in the warmer weather or to attend the pool when not so warm. Andrea utilises centres like the Alan Shearer Centre and often likes to drive out to spa days somewhere in the countryside.

Andrea is a huge animal lover and does rescue the odd hedgehog or bird, so you must be an animal lover, as you might need to drop off a hedgehog or two to the local rescue centres.

There will be light domestic tasks required including laundry and light dusting. Andrea manages her own medications but when she is poorly you may be required to assist in ordering and assisting Andrea to take her medication.

You may be required to assist or complete tasks in food preparation, but this would be on an "as and when" basis.

You will be required to accompany Andrea to the local shops to assist with shopping and Andrea does like the local coffee shop for her favourite coffee and cake.

Driver preferred but not essential.
