As the Social Mobility & Citizenship Manager, you will create social impact, enhance community engagement, and drive social mobility. Your role involves 50% focus on initiatives reducing barriers into professional services and 50% on broader societal impact efforts.

  3. Engaging with the business to promote participation in social mobility activities.
  4. Managing partnerships with charities and social enterprises for early engagement initiatives.
  5. Representing BDO in industry collaborations like Access Accountancy and RISE, working with ICAEW and other firms.
  6. Supporting networks such as the Bridge Network and Trustee Network to achieve their goals.
  7. Updating senior sponsors and teams on partnership activities.
  8. Supporting summer programs and liaising with charities for student engagement.
  9. Overseeing initiatives to ensure comprehensive delivery and impact.
  10. Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote social mobility.
  11. Collaborating with teams across HR, Communications, Marketing, and other departments.
  12. Establishing strategic relationships with external organizations to enhance outreach.
  13. Leading the submission of BDO’s benchmark entries like the Social Mobility Employer Index.
  14. Analyzing data on socioeconomic backgrounds, outreach metrics, and KPIs to measure success.
  15. Presenting insights and recommendations to senior leadership for strategic decisions.
  16. Monitoring progress and fostering transparency and accountability within the firm.
  17. Communicating stories and initiatives to increase engagement through various channels.
  18. Developing reports, guidance, and presentations to support stakeholder engagement.
  19. Highlighting employee volunteering efforts, e.g., during National Volunteers’ Week.

You'll need:

  • Experience in Social Mobility, Outreach, Citizenship, or CSR management, preferably in professional services.
  • Passion for employee wellbeing and community engagement, including volunteering programs.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to influence at all levels.
  • Data analysis skills and systematic problem-solving ability.
  • Stakeholder management and project leadership experience.
