Maddox Job Description: Social Media Manager
Location: Maddox Street, London
Reports to: Marketing Director (primary line), Digital Manager (secondary line)
Work Format: 3 or 4 days in the office, one/two days WFH. Please note, first month will be full-time in the office for onboarding.
Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Social Media Manager to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will lead the development and execution of our social media strategy, create platform-first content, manage community engagement, and amplify Maddox Gallery’s brand and leadership presence online. You will also support paid campaigns and oversee live coverage of key events. This role is ideal for a strategic, creative thinker who lives and breathes social media.
You will be responsible for delivering measurable growth, supporting brand reputation, and integrating social media into the wider commercial and marketing ecosystem.

Since launching in 2015, Maddox Gallery has established itself as a globally recognised art brand with multiple London locations. We specialise in offering high-net-worth clients access to some of the art world’s most sought-after emerging, established, and blue-chip artists. We also offer a bespoke art advisory service, supporting clients with investment-grade acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation and Storytelling:
- Work closely with our in-house Content Producer to create high-impact, visually compelling content tailored for platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, and WhatsApp.
- Lead the creation of TikTok-first content, leveraging trends, native features, and high-engagement formats.
- Capture and share live content from events, private views, and gallery moments to provide exclusive, real-time updates.
- Support storytelling through a mix of short-form and long-form content, ensuring alignment with the gallery's luxury positioning.
- Own the content calendar and campaign planning process in line with wider gallery activities and marketing objectives.
Executive Social Media Management:
- Manage the social media presence of key Maddox Gallery executives, shaping a consistent and polished personal brand in line with company values.
- Draft, post, and engage on behalf of executives on platforms such as Instagram, LinkedIn, and WhatsApp (for client engagement where appropriate).
- Exercise high levels of discretion, tone sensitivity, and personal brand alignment.
Strategy and Growth:
- Design and execute a data-informed social media strategy aligned with broader business and marketing goals.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Director and Digital Manager to develop platform-specific strategies, with an emphasis on thought leadership, storytelling, and community growth.
- Plan and run social campaigns to drive engagement for exhibitions, events, artists, and partnerships.
- Build and nurture relationships with influencers and cultural partners in the art and luxury sectors.
- Own and develop an influencer/creator strategy, identifying collaborators who align with the Maddox brand.
- Support lead generation by integrating social media touchpoints into the wider sales funnel.
- Collaborate with internal teams to align messaging and identify content opportunities.
Community Management and Paid Media:
- Oversee daily community engagement: responding to comments, managing enquiries, and fostering a loyal digital following.
- Collaborate with the Marketing Director and media agency on paid media campaigns, with potential to take increasing ownership over time.
- Monitor and respond to crises or sensitive feedback in a timely, brand-consistent, and reputation-conscious manner.
Analytics and Reporting:
- Use tools such as Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, Later, and TikTok analytics to track performance.
- Deliver clear, insightful monthly reports for senior leadership, with actionable recommendations for optimisation.
- Stay current with platform updates, algorithm changes, and social trends to keep Maddox ahead of the curve.
KPIs and Success Metrics:
- Growth in followers, engagement rate, and reach across all platforms.
- Executive profile growth and visibility (reach, engagement, sentiment).
- Lead generation and referral traffic to key landing pages.
- Engagement uplift during events and strategic campaigns.
Candidate Requirements
Core Skills:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication with a sharp eye for tone, detail, and audience.
- Proven track record of growing social media accounts and delivering KPI-driven results.
- Deep knowledge and personal passion for social media: you’re the kind of person who lives on TikTok and keeps up with the latest creator trends.
- Strong multitasking and time-management skills in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.
- Proficiency in key platforms and tools: TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Meta Ads Manager, WhatsApp Business, Adobe Suite, Canva.
- Appreciation for cultural and global audience nuances, especially within luxury and art markets.
Preferred Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ professional experience in a social media role, ideally within the luxury, art, culture, or lifestyle sectors.
- Experience creating platform-first video and short-form content.
- Experience managing or supporting executive social media accounts.
- Working knowledge of paid social campaigns and media optimisation.
- Experience collaborating with influencers and creative talent.
