Job Description

Social Media Manager

Location: Based at our Support Office near Oxford Circus, London, this role offers a blend of office-based working, home working, and hands‑on content creation and production across our restaurants and venues.

Salary: To be discussed

The Big Table Group is home to over 200 restaurants across iconic brands, including Bella Italia, Amalfi, Frankie & Benny’s, Banana Tree, Las Iguanas, and more.

We’re on the lookout for a Social Media Manager!

Do you love creating culturally relevant content that makes brands stand out? Are you full of fresh ideas, commercially minded and ready to lead social strategy across a diverse portfolio of restaurant brands?

We’re looking for a Social Media Manager to turn brand and trading priorities into distinctive, well-planned and engaging social content. You’ll own our social strategy, content planning and campaign activation while leading and developing our Social Media Specialist.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strategic thinking with hands‑on creative delivery. You’ll shape how our brands show up across social platforms, lead proactive content planning and make sure brilliant ideas are delivered consistently and at pace.

If you’re inventive, organised and passionate about building recognisable social identities, we’d love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Social Media Manager, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of social activity across multiple brands, ensuring our content is distinctive, culturally relevant and connected to commercial priorities.

  • Own and develop a clear social strategy for each brand, covering audiences, channels, content pillars, tone of voice and measures of success.
  • Create the annual social roadmap and manage a rolling content calendar connected to campaigns, menu launches, restaurant openings, trading moments and cultural opportunities.
  • Lead social activation planning for key campaigns, defining the social idea, content journey, formats, creator support, paid amplification, timelines and KPIs.
  • Turn campaign ideas into clear content briefs and production plans for internal teams, creators, photographers, videographers and external partners.
  • Lead regular ideation sessions and build a strong pipeline of proactive, social‑first concepts.
  • Set the creative standard across short‑form video, photography, copy, community‑led content and platform‑native storytelling.
  • Identify and test emerging platforms, formats, creators and tools, using clear measures to evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Line‑manage, coach and develop the Social Media Specialist, providing clear priorities, regular feedback and development support.
  • Oversee community‑management standards and escalation processes, ensuring responses are timely, consistent and on‑brand.
  • Develop our creator and influencer approach, including selection, briefing, content approval, usage rights and evaluation.
  • Work closely with Brand, Campaign, Digital, Design, Operations and agency partners to deliver effective social activity.
  • Define clear social KPIs and produce concise performance reporting that turns results and audience insights into practical recommendations.
  • Manage agreed social budgets and supplier costs, demonstrating the value delivered by our activity.
  • Act as an ambassador for The Big Table Group and our brands.

These responsibilities reflect the strategy, activation, content leadership, team management, creator, community and performance accountabilities set out in the job description.

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone who combines strong creative judgement with strategic thinking, commercial awareness and excellent organisation.

  • Proven experience managing organic social media for consumer‑facing brands, ideally within hospitality, retail, leisure or lifestyle.
  • Experience developing social strategies, campaign activation plans and detailed content calendars, rather than only creating or scheduling posts.
  • A strong portfolio of distinctive, social‑first work that demonstrates cultural relevance and measurable results.
  • Experience line‑managing or coaching a content creator, executive or social specialist.
  • Confidence briefing and directing shoots, creators, designers and external production partners.
  • A strong understanding of TikTok, Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and emerging platform behaviours.
  • Experience using social scheduling, listening and analytics tools.
  • The ability to translate performance data and audience insights into clear recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Strong organisation, with the ability to manage competing priorities across multiple brands.
  • Working knowledge of influencers, content usage rights, paid amplification and brand safety.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with the confidence to make clear recommendations and protect brand standards.
Benefits
  • Competitive pay, benefits and bonus scheme.
  • 50% off food and drink across all Big Table Group brands, plus 25% for friends and family.
  • Wellbeing support 24/7 virtual GP, mental‑health support, healthcare cash plan, dental plan, counselling, and fitness and diet plans.
  • Private Health Care
  • Salary‑sacrifice pension.
  • Spend and Save platform, providing access to hundreds of retail discounts.
  • A supportive, inclusive culture with genuine opportunities for growth.
  • A business that values integrity, collaboration and continuous improvement.

At The Big Table Group, there’s a seat for everyone. Take your place, share your experiences, and let’s celebrate the differences we all bring every day.
