Reporting to the Communications Director, the Social Media Manager will serve as a strategist and internal evangelist on social media, responsible for articulating social media plans and leading their implementation. This position will drive social strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams across Sysco Great Britain.

Sysco operates well-known foodservice brands including Brakes, Kff, Medina, Fresh Direct, M&J Seafood, Wild Harvest, and Country Choice.

The Social Media Manager will create marketing campaigns, build brand recognition, and manage all published content. They will track campaign progress using web analytics, research industry trends, maintain an active social presence, and respond to customer inquiries. Collaboration with teams such as communications, marketing, contact centre, HR, legal, and resource groups is essential to align messages and goals.

This role offers a home-based contract with occasional travel to the London office, HQ in Ashford, Kent, or regional depots, as needed.

Key Accountabilities:

  1. Develop and implement social media strategies and campaigns to enhance brand awareness.
  2. Manage daily campaign activities ensuring brand consistency.
  3. Set targets and timelines; manage content and editorial calendars.
  4. Maintain and grow social networks including Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
  5. Activate third-party campaigns.
  6. Analyze metrics to evaluate performance and impact.
  7. Ensure consistent execution through workflow management.
  8. Monitor social media using analytics tools.
  9. Optimize strategies based on data and research.
  10. Research competitors and industry leaders.
  11. Review campaign success and identify improvements.
  12. Engage with social media influencers.
  13. Collaborate with customer service teams to resolve issues.
  14. Assist with crisis communication and messaging.
  15. Create engaging content for multiple platforms.
  16. Research new media trends and opportunities.
