British Gas is seeking a dynamic Social Media Manager to lead content for its brands across multiple platforms, blending in-house and on-ground storytelling with external partnerships. You will craft engaging, authentic content and drive real-time engagement.

You will work in a hybrid setup, traveling for shoots and collaborating with PR, Brand, and Operations to align social activity with business priorities. A portfolio of recent work is required.

Qualifications

• Significant hands-on experience managing social media accounts for a consumer-facing brand.
• Proven ability to create social-first video content (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts).
• Experience capturing content in real-world environments (on location, with customers or frontline teams).
• Experience directing external partners (agencies, freelancers, content creators) to deliver high-quality outputs.

Responsabilités

• Develop and execute social media content across priority platforms aligned to brand and PR objectives.
• Create and curate high-performing, platform-first content (video, imagery, copy).
• Collaborate with PR and Social Director to manage external agencies and creators.
• Identify real customer and colleague stories to build authenticity and trust.
• Monitor channels and trends, responding to real-time conversations to drive engagement.
• Track performance metrics and optimise content through a test-and-learn approach.
• Collaborate with internal teams to reflect business priorities in social activity.
• Support integrated marketing campaigns across social platforms.
