We have an exciting new opportunity for a Social Media & Content Creation Manager to join our Insight, Innovation & Marketing (IIM) team. This is role is based at our site in Kirkham, Preston however we offer flexible hybrid working.

Reporting to the Consumer Foods Controller, the objective of this role is to make Kepak’s brands culturally relevant and socially engaging for the target audiences, ultimately driving increased brand awareness, relevance, and purchase frequency among a younger demographic.

Our brands are laser focused in driving penetration with core audiences and ensure we can hold our own against increased competition in the convenience food space, this role is critical in positioning our brands socially driven, emotionally resonant food brand. This role will directly support the business’ objective to grow market share in the under-30s segment, boost frequency of purchase, and drive long-term brand equity.

Key Responsibilities

Through a bold, trend-led content strategy across TikTok, Meta, and X, this person will:

  • Build brand salience by showing up consistently where Gen Z and Millennial shoppers consumes culture.
  • Create emotionally engaging content that encourages sharing, tagging, and UGC — not just impressions.

Content Creation & Execution

  • Plan, storyboard, shoot, and edit engaging short-form video content weekly across TikTok, Instagram Reels, and Stories — using trending sounds, formats, and memes.
  • Develop a content calendar aligned to brand campaigns, retailer moments and key Gen Z cultural events (e.g. Love Island, Spotify Wrapped, freshers’ week).

Campaign Development

  • Lead digital content execution for brand campaigns adapting creative for social.
  • Develop and run UGC-led competitions, TikTok challenges, or “Duet with us” formats.

Community Building & Engagement

  • Monitor comments, tags, and brand mentions daily; engage in a tone that's cheeky, fun, and unmistakably Rustlers.
  • Build relationships with micro-influencers, creators, and TikTokers who align with the brand attitudes.

Trend & Culture Scanning

  • Stay constantly plugged into TikTok, meme pages, Gen Z subcultures, and emerging digital behaviours.
  • Identify early-stage trends and viral moments our brands can credibly jump on — and bring these to life quickly.
  • Recommend culture-led content opportunities in partnership with Brand marketing team.
  • Track and report on content performance weekly — views, shares, engagement, saves, and FYP pick-up.
  • Use learnings to optimise future content, test new formats, and double down on what works.

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with Brand, Shopper Marketing, and Design to ensure consistency of brand message across paid and owned.
  • Support commercial teams by creating social content that aligns with retail priorities (e.g. promotions, NPD listings).
  • Experience: 5+ years of social media management with strong portfolio of work, ideally experience of working within FMCG brands.
  • Passion for trends and innovation:Good track record of aligning to key trends and
  • Collaboration & Leadership: Strong ability to work cross-functionally and manage relationships with key stakeholders.
  • Commercial Acumen: A results-driven approach with an understanding of market dynamics and brand management from a social media perspective.
