Job description

Communications, including social media and digital content, is an integral part of BookTrust’s work. We are looking for a creative and collaborative Social Media and Content Officer who can support our team as we look to elevate our content, reach new audiences and make the case for the transformative power of shared reading.

You will do this through creating and sharing engaging social media content, supporting with the delivery of video content, measuring the success of channels and content and working with colleagues across the organisation to amplify messages through digital channels. This is very much a hands-on role, taking day-to-day responsibility for editing, writing and publishing social media and website content.

You will be creative, practical, and conscientious with a keen eye for detail and excellent copywriting skills, and will enjoy working out the best way to communicate our key messages in a clear, engaging format. You will be comfortable both working independently and collaborating with colleagues across teams in BookTrust, as well as with delivery partners, key stakeholders, supporters and families.

In return, you’ll be part of a friendly and supportive team that is always looking to improve its reach, and have the opportunity to create content that has real cut through with our target audiences.

This is an exciting time to join BookTrust. We know that what we do has never mattered more – or been more needed. This year will also see us launch our latest five-year strategy, and the postholder will play a crucial role in helping us drive forward delivery.
