Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is recruiting an experienced Surveyor for a leading social housing organisation in Blaenau Gwent. The 12-month fixed-term contract covers disrepair, DMC, stock condition, and investment projects.

You will provide technical surveying expertise, manage projects and contractors, and liaise with residents and internal teams to ensure homes are safe and well maintained. We seek an experienced Surveyor with strong knowledge of construction, tendering and contract administration, and

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar surveying or property role, ideally within social housing.
• Strong knowledge of building construction.
• Experience of tendering and contract administration.
• Experience managing building works, budgets and contractors.
• Knowledge of WHQS and HHSRS.
• Experience dealing with disrepair, DMC, property inspections or adaptations.
• Strong tenant and stakeholder liaison skills.
• Good problem-solving, organisational and negotiation skills.
• Educated to Level 4 of the National Qualification Framework or be willing to work towards this.

• Inspecting properties and carrying out stock condition and energy surveys.
• Investigating building defects and managing remedial works.
• Managing disrepair and DMC cases.
• Delivering property adaptations.
• Managing refurbishment and investment projects.
• Preparing specifications, tenders and programmes of work.
• Managing contractors, consultants and contracts.
• Providing technical surveying and construction advice.
• Supporting procurement and value for money.
• Managing construction-related risks and compliance.
• Liaising with residents, contractors and stakeholders throughout projects.
