Job summary

Niyaa People is recruiting for Asset Surveyors to support a social housing provider in South Wales. You will inspect properties, plan works, and manage on-site delivery with a focus on safety and compliance.

The role is a 1-year fixed-term contract, full-time (37–40 hours) with hybrid working — 1 day at home and 4 on-site/in the office. Salary is £43,839 with a strong benefits package for housing stock maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in a Building Surveyor role, ideally in Social Housing.
  • Strong knowledge of planned works and DLO management.
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct property inspections, including planned works surveys.
  • Prepare specifications and manage DLO to deliver planned works.
  • Support contract delivery and contractor performance on site.
  • Ensure works meet compliance and health & safety standards.
  • Manage projects within occupied properties with minimal resident disruption.
  • Liaise with tenants, contractors and internal teams for effective communication.
  • Monitor budgets and ensure cost-effective delivery of works.
  • Produce detailed reports and maintain records in internal systems.
  • Support delivery of planned maintenance programmes.

We are recruiting for 3 Asset Surveyors to join a leading Social Housing provider based in South Wales, supporting property services across the local region on a fixed term basis

As an Asset Surveyor, you will be responsible for delivering a range of surveying services across housing stock, ensuring properties are maintained to a high standard, compliant with regulations, and fit for purpose. Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting property inspections, including planned works surveys

  • Ensuring all works are completed in line with compliance and health & safety standards

  • Producing detailed reports and maintaining accurate records using internal systems

The successful AssetSurveyor will have:
  • Proven experience in a similar Building Surveyor role, ideally within Social Housing
  • Strong knowledge of planned works
  • Experience managing DLO and overseeing works on site
  • Good understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage a busy workload
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office
