Job Description:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Graduate to join a specialist school in Oxford as a SEN Teaching Assistant supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This full-time role offers an excellent opportunity for Psychology, Counselling, Criminology graduates, or those with relevant experience, to work alongside trained therapists, counsellors, and psychologists.

The school caters to children aged 4 to 11 with SEMH and complex needs. The successful candidate will provide consistent, child-centered support, working proactively and demonstrating resilience and confidence in challenging situations. Experience working with SEN children or adults, even informally, is desirable, along with Level 3 qualifications or a degree in a relevant field.

This role provides mentorship, shadowing opportunities, and invaluable experience working with mental health issues and special needs, ideal for aspiring educational or occupational psychologists, therapeutic support workers, or SEN teachers.

Responsibilities:
  1. Support children with SEMH and complex needs in a classroom setting.
  2. Work alongside therapists and psychologists, gaining insights and experience.
  3. Implement child-centered strategies to foster emotional and social development.
  4. Maintain a proactive, adaptable approach, demonstrating resilience and confidence.
Requirements:
