Job Description:

Axcis are looking for multiple Teaching Assistants to join a highly respected special school in Wirral (CH46). The school is seeking 1:1 support staff for pupils between KS2–KS4, with a particular focus on those displaying challenging behaviour. This setting is a Pupil Referral Unit (PRU), and its core aim is to bring about positive changes in pupils’ lives, promoting both personal development and academic achievement. The school operates a "7 Core Values System", designed to help pupils take ownership of their behaviour and make positive choices independently.

We are especially keen to hear from enthusiastic, resilient individuals with experience supporting young people with: ADHD, SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs), Challenging behaviour. The role will involve supporting pupils who may display aggression, oppositional behaviours, so confidence, consistency, and strong behaviour management skills are key.

Role Details:

  • Hours: Full-time, 8:30am – 3:30pm
  • Start: ASAP
  • Contract: Long-term, ongoing

Whilst prior school experience isn’t essential, experience with SEND and challenging behaviour in any setting (e.g., care, youth work, alternative provision) is required.
