A leading health and social care agency in Glasgow is seeking a Social Care Worker to support individuals in crisis and help them secure stable housing. Candidates should have experience in high-pressure environments, manage caseloads, and possess strong communication skills. Role - Social Care Worker (Homelessness Services)
Location - GCHSCP, Rowanpark Business Centre, 5 Ardlaw Street, Glasgow G51 3RR
Contract Status - Temporary, up to 31 March 2026

At Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) our focus is to minimise the risk of people becoming homeless, through the provision of high quality housing option assessments, information and assistance. We work collaboratively with colleagues across the partnership, voluntary and private sector partner agencies, as part of the broader homelessness prevention agenda.
We are currently recruiting a Social Care Worker to join our Homelessness Service. This is a rewarding opportunity to support individuals in crisis and help them move towards safe, stable housing.
Key responsibilities:
Manage a varied and demanding caseload
Conduct comprehensive needs assessments
Deliver excellent customer service to individuals facing housing challenges
Carry out statutory homelessness assessments in line with the Housing (Scotland) Act 1987 (as amended)
Secure temporary accommodation and develop person-centred care and support plans
Complete risk assessments and coordinate appropriate support services
Prioritise access to settled accommodation where required
We're seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who:
Has experience working with the public in a fast-paced, changing environment
Has experience in managing a demanding caseload with competing priorities and completing needs assessments
Possesses strong communication, IT, and report-writing skills
Can demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support
Is adaptable, resilient, and able to manage competing priorities
It is desirable for you to have SVQ level 3 in Social Care / HNC or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards the qualification. Please refer to the Person Specification for full details of the required qualifications, skills, knowledge and competencies that are required for the above role.
