Social Care Worker - Cookstown *Waiting List* **£2,000 Sign on bonus (T&C's apply)**

Job Title: Social Care Worker

Department: Support & Care

Salary Scale: £31,050 per annum (rising to £35,300 with service)

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Cookstown Supported Living Services

Hours of Work: 39 per week

(Covering a 24 hour, 7 days per week Rotational Shift Roster)

You are joining Trinity Support & Care Services, an innovative organisation, providing quality assured, safe, and person-centred residential care and outreach support services to children and adults with intellectual disabilities.

Key purpose of the job:

As a Social Care Worker, you will provide holistic Supports with day-to-day living, for individuals with a learning disability, autism or associated mental health needs.

You will deliver person-centred and empowering support, to meet the individual needs of our service users.

Main responsibilities

The following duties are typical for this role. The post holder may not perform all of the listed duties and/or may be required to perform additional or different duties from those set forth below to address business needs, changing practices, and/or to meet the needs/changing needs of the Service User.

Service User

  • Provide assistance to Service Users in all aspects of personal care.
  • Ensure the Human Rights of each Service User are exercised with the utmost integrity and respect.
  • Maintain a safe environment for Service Users, colleagues, and visitors.
  • Encourage Service Users to live according to their wishes and promote their individuality through new opportunities, skill development, and supporting innate abilities.
  • Provide relevant information to Service Users to enable informed decision-making.
  • Support Service Users in the least restrictive ways, promoting positive risk-taking.
  • Support must be delivered in a low arousal, non-aversive manner.
  • Set clear goals and steps for personal outcomes, with appropriate timeframes.
  • Prioritise supports and keep key commitments.
  • Work in line with evidence-based practices.
  • Support Service Users to live life to their fullest potential and remain socially valued members of their communities.
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude and contribute to your team and organization.

Regulation

  • Maintain hygiene and cleanliness, following safe food practices and infection control procedures, documenting all actions.
  • Complete daily paperwork, risk assessments, and maintain records.
  • Follow medication administration procedures, ensuring the 10 rights and proper documentation.
  • Adhere to policies regarding safeguarding, medications, and finances.
  • Participate in meetings, reviews, and training.
  • Contribute to a high-quality, professional service within your team.

Person Specification – Social Care Worker

Qualifications & Experience

  • Third Level Qualification or equivalent in Social Care or related discipline, and/or
  • At least 2 years’ experience in roles such as Day Services, Domiciliary Care, Residential Care, supporting individuals with learning disabilities or autism, including challenging behaviors.

Assessment methods include application review, interviews, practical assessments, and verification of certificates.

Other Requirements

  • Valid full UK/ROI driving license, access to a car, and business insurance, or alternative transport means if applicable (especially for applicants with disabilities).
