Job summary

A supportive organization is seeking a Male or Female Personal Assistant/Befriender for a 15-year-old with neurological disabilities in Coatbridge. This role involves accompanying him to leisure activities, enhancing his self-belief, and helping with social skills. The ideal candidate should be confident, kind, and able to engage with his unique sense of humor. A Full UK Driving Licence is essential for this position, which is guaranteed permanent for up to 6 hours per week at £13.00 per hour.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

A 15 year old with off the wall, edgy humour, requires a Male or Female Personal Assistant/Befriender. This chatty young man, who loves to make you laugh, has Neurological Disabilities, and lives in Coatbridge.

His favourite activities are playing and watching football, cycling, playing pool and darts, going out for food, and listening to a wide variety of music. He also enjoys bowling, playing FIFA on the PlayStation and visiting new places. He loves dogs and all animals.

He loves aeroplanes and has ambitions to be a Pilot one day.

Your role would involve being a good role model, accompanying him to leisure outings and sport activities, and enhance his self- belief. He would also like to join a Youth club, with the support of his PA.

The successful PA would not be afraid to challenge him, comfortable with his edgy humour, help him with social skills, see when he is agitated or anxious and be able to support and reassure him.

His PA should be firm and kind, able to read his emotions and know when to step in and help. A confident, assertive person who understands boundaries and knows his age group. The PA will use their initiative and being able to have a good laugh/chat is essential.

A driver with a Full UK Driving Licence is essential, and you may be required to use your own vehicle or drive the family car.

Relevant experience is preferred, but not essential.

Recruiting for 1 position.

Guaranteed permanent position of up to 6 hours per week.

Weekend afternoons, details to be discussed at interview.
