Personal Assistant Job Description

Vacancy Ref: 301

Location: Westbury

Hours: Maximum 37 hours per week - part-time/job share considered

Payrate: £13 per hour

Holiday: 5.6 weeks per year including bank holidays (pro rata for part time)

Driving Licence: Yes – (with use of employer’s vehicle)

DBS Check: Yes - will be funded by the employer

A bit about me:

I have a varied background with interests including festival music, word puzzles, reading, and listening to audio books. I live with my partner, our dog, and cat. I hold an OU postgraduate degree in clinical psychology (MSc) and volunteer in an advocacy organization supporting social inclusion in local communities.

About the role:
Daily Personal duties:
  • Assisting with getting up, showering, washing, dressing, and preparing meals.
  • Cooking and preparing a variety of meals for the evening.
  • Evening care: putting to bed, bathing, showering.
  • Supporting medication management when required.
  • Assisting with transfers on and off bed and toilet (experience with track hoists is preferable but training can be provided).
  • Assisting with dental/oral hygiene and denture care.
General household support:
  • Checking and emptying bins.
  • Sweeping and mopping floors.
  • Keeping bathroom clean and tidy.
  • Checking on laundry and assisting with clothes as needed.
  • Cleaning kitchen surfaces.
  • Changing beds, pillows, duvets, and sheets.
Admin support:
  • Maintaining inventory of medical supplies and assisting with supply orders.
  • Monitoring equipment servicing schedules for health and safety compliance.
Community support:
  • Shopping trips.
  • Attending medical and social appointments.
