A care service provider in Dundee is looking for Social Care Officers to assist elderly residents with personal care and daily activities. Candidates must have SVQ Level 2 Care or the ability to undertake it and possess strong communication skills. This role includes various shift patterns, including weekends and nights, providing vital support to enhance resident independence.
Based at Turriff House, you will work 30 or 37 hours per week, including dayshift, nightshift on a rota basis, and weekends. Please indicate your preference on the application form.
You will work as part of a team of Social Care Officers in one of our care homes for the elderly but may be asked to work in an alternative home or part of the service where required. The service provides support to residents with daily living tasks based on their individual needs.

You will have SVQ Level 2 Care or the ability to undertake and achieve it.
Your duties will include attending to the personal needs of residents, helping with personal care tasks, administering medication, assisting residents to eat, and other identified needs. Our goal is to create a supportive, homely atmosphere where residents can achieve maximum independence while receiving necessary support.
You will also be involved in social activities organized for residents. The shift pattern includes weekend work and night duties. Additionally, duties include undertaking cleaning and other domestic tasks as necessary.
You should have proven experience working with older people, individuals with dementia, or those with physical disabilities. Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.
You must be able to work as part of a team, independently, and use your initiative. Assessment skills and a professional attitude are required. Ability to work various shift patterns, including evenings, weekends, and rotation onto nights, is necessary.
You must be able to register with the Scottish Social Services Council within a specified timeframe. This position is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join or update their PVG Scheme check before a formal offer of employment is made by Dundee City Council.
