Social Services and Healthcare Modern Apprentice
Band 2 (Annex 21)

This unique Apprenticeship is now being offered with no age restrictions for applicants. This gives you the opportunity to work in one of our Care homes where you will earn a competitive salary, while securing a qualification in partnership with The UHI.
This apprenticeship is a real job where you learn, gain experience and get paid, it is tailored to you as an individual with learning and assessments based on your needs and aspirations. On successful completion you will be awarded an SVQ2 –Social Services and Healthcare SCQF 6.
Our Apprenticeships include a minimum of 3 hours per week dedicated study time, during which you will attend the qualification specific taught sessions provided by the UHI and undertake private study.

When you have completed your apprenticeship as a minimum you will be offered a bank contract however you may be offered a permanent job in a Social Care role in NHS Highland.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
