Job Role: Social Care Facilitator - Duty Team - Ref: SS00325

37 hours per week, Monday - Friday 8:45am - 5:15pm (4:45pm on Friday)

Salary: G7 £32,654 - £37,035

Walsall Council is a dedicated and person-centred organisation committed to providing high-quality adult social care services within the borough. We believe in empowering individuals to live fulfilling and independent lives, and we are looking for a team of Social Care Facilitators to create a new dedicated duty team. You will receive a robust induction into the role and the team will have daily duty management support to oversee the work. Monthly 1:1 supervision is provided as well as support from the wider social care teams.

About the Role:

As a Social Care Facilitator in the duty team, you will be the first point of contact for a range of enquiries and urgent situations arising within our adult social care services. You will play a crucial role in ensuring timely and appropriate responses, facilitating effective communication, and contributing to the smooth running of our daily operations. This is a rewarding role that requires excellent communication, assessment, and decision-making skills, as well as a strong understanding of adult social care principles and legislation.

Your key responsibilities will be:
  • Responding to duty calls, emails and enquiries
  • Providing information, advice and guidance
  • Signposting
  • Prioritising of work and responding appropriately
  • Assessing and managing risk
  • Urgent duty visits
  • Assessment and support planning
  • Supporting locality teams
  • Reviews
  • Accurate verbal and written communication and recording

This role is office based within the Civic Centre in Walsall, although there may be flexibility for hybrid working following an induction period.
