A leading organization in Glasgow is seeking a Social Care Assistant to provide compassionate support to older residents in care homes. The role involves working 12-hour shifts, ensuring the well-being of residents, and requires registration with the Scottish Social Services Council. Salary: £26,988.81 - £28,521.37 per year

Role: Social Care Assistant (Day)
Location: Meadowburn, Hawthorn House, Orchard Grove, Victoria Gardens, Riverside
Salary: Starting hourly rate of £14.79 (see attached salary details)
Hours and Shift Pattern: 24 & 35 hours per week (see attached work patterns)
Due to the nature of this role and function, there is a requirement to work Public Holidays.

Our GCHSCP Care Homes provide care and support in enabling surroundings to our residents 24/7, where you would work 12-hour shifts.

This role requires you to have a suitable qualification to register with the Scottish Social Services Council as a Support Worker within a Care Home. Glasgow City Council will support and cover the costs for undertaking this requirement. Please refer to the Person Specification for full details of the qualifications, skills, knowledge, and competencies needed for this role.
Membership of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme is essential upon taking up the appointment. Successful candidates will need to pay for their PVG Membership or Scheme Checks.
Registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) is mandatory. You must either be already registered or have applied within 3 months and be registered within 6 months from your start date. As part of the local government pay deal, local authority staff are currently not required to pay SSSC fees.
These roles are excepted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).
