A leading healthcare organization in Exeter is seeking dedicated individuals to provide personal care and support to service users. Candidates will assist with daily living activities and maintain high care standards. Essential qualifications include registration with the SSSC and relevant experience in personal care. Strathburn House is situated in Gairloch on the West Coast of the Highlands in Scotland and is part of the North Coast 500 area. It is an integral part of the local community. For the staff working at Strathburn there are many opportunities for learning and development and we would welcome your application to be part of our Strathburn family.
There are lots of activities nearby including the Torridon Hills and other notable walks and trails. Gairloch also has some beautiful beaches nearby such as Big Sands, Red Point Beach and the very well-known Gruinard Bay where water sports can be found. There are also opportunities to fish and try falconry as well as many other skills. In high season, there are lovely cafes and restaurants to grab a bite. The award winning Gairloch Museum is a must to learning more about the local history.Other interesting attractions are the old gun turrets at the end of Cove where you will find many World War II artefacts and information.
Accommodation can be found in the local areas of Inverasdale, Poolewe, Aultbea and Gairloch, all very commutable via car.
Working under the supervision of the shift leader, to provide personal care and support to service users, including:
To be familiar with, and work to, the National Care Standards for Care Homes.
To contribute to care plans with the key worker for the service user
To undertake domestic duties as directed by the shift leader
To cover kitchen duties as directed and guided by the shift leader
To assist with laundry responsibilities as required
To undertake vehicle escort duties as required
To be aware of own responsibilities in relation to health and safety
To undertake a continuous process of risk assessment in relation to the role within the care home and in other settings as required
To participate in personal development activities, including attending training when appropriate To register and maintain registration with the SSSC.
