Job summary

Spring into Action is hiring a casual, temporary entry-level chaperone in Preston, UK. You will attend first dates, friendship matches or small group meet-ups to support members with learning disabilities or autism, initiating introductions and providing background support and encouragement.

You will contact members before meet-ups, assist during gatherings, and write post-meet-up reports for coordinators, ensuring a safe, positive experience and promoting independence and inclusion.

Responsibilities

• Contact members prior to a meet-up to confirm arrangements.
• Support members during meet-ups, assist introductions and provide practical and emotional support.
• Ensure the meet-up is a positive experience for members.
• Write a report on the meet-up and report back to the Membership Coordinators.
• Ensure members have a positive experience.
• Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of members.
• Empower members to build confidence and social skills while promoting independence.
• Promote equality and highlight positive representation of people with learning disabilities and autism.
• Work towards achieving service targets and outcomes.
• Adhere to organisational policies including GDPR, Safeguarding and Health & Safety.
• Maintain personal and professional development through training.
• Undertake additional duties or training as required.
