Job summary

Arm is seeking a creative SoC Design Engineer as part of Arms Solution Engineering division. You will contribute to specification, design and verification of SoCs, collaborating with teams in Manchester and Sheffield to build cutting-edge Arm-based products.

You will participate in integrating complex IP like CPU clusters, PCIe, DDR/LPDDR, and Ethernet, and help drive design quality and process improvements across the build flow.

Qualifications

  • Experience in crafting and incorporating subsystems for PCIe, DDR/LPDDR, HBM, UCIe, Ethernet.

Responsibilities

  • Participate integrating complex IP like CPU Cluster, PCIe, DDR, and other High-Speed IO IP for SoCs.
  • Write micro-architecture specs, develop RTL, fix bugs, and run design checks.
  • Work with the verification team to analyse test plans and debug design issues.
  • Support backend implementation by aiding floor planning, constraints, and timing closure.
  • Contribute to enhancing design methodologies used by the team.
  • Contribute to the improvement of design quality standards, design quality metrics and inspections across various aspects of the build process.
  • Guide and support team members to ensure project success.
  • Assist Project Management with activities, plans, and schedules.

We are looking for a creative and hard-working SoC Design Engineer to join the team and help develop these systems. You will contribute to the specification, design and verification of various products. You will join a team of dedicated engineers in Manchester and Sheffield passionate about SoC Design, as well as collaborate with multiple other groups inside of Arm to design our SoC products.

Responsibilities
  • Participate integrating complex IP like CPU Cluster, PCIe, DDR, and other High-Speed IO IP for SoCs.

Required Skills and Experience :
  • Experience in crafting and incorporating subsystems for PCIe, DDR/LPDDR, HBM, UCIe, Ethernet
  • Experience in RTL design for sophisticated SoC development using Verilog and/or SystemVerilog.
  • Proficiency in static design checks (Lint/CDC/RDC), synthesis, timing analysis, power management, and power/clock domain crossing.
  • Exposure to all design stages: concept, specification, implementation, power/performance analysis, optimisation, testing, documentation, and support.
  • Produce specifications and documentation for sophisticated designs.
  • Knowledge of shell scripting (e.g., Tcl, Perl, Python, etc.).
"Nice To Have" Skills and Experience :
  • Experience with Arm-based designs and/or Arm System Architectures
  • Experience developing and integrating subsystems for PCIe, UCIe, DDR/LPDDR/HBM, Ethernet etc.
  • High level programming experience such as C/C++ and/or assembly language programming
  • Experience in embedded operating systems, device drivers, microprocessor and embedded system hardware architectures.

Salary Range: £55,300 - £74,800 per year
