Job summary

Sopra Steria UK is seeking an experienced Security Architect to own the end-to-end SOC architecture, shaping how platforms, detections and controls evolve to meet client and regulatory needs. You will influence service growth, embed secure-by-design principles, and drive technology introductions across the security stack.

The role is hybrid, based in Farnborough two days per week, with SC and DV clearance required.

Qualifications

• Experience designing or owning security architectures in SOC/MSSP environments.
• Strong knowledge of detection engineering and SOC operations.
• Ability to oversee security platforms and integrations holistically.
• Familiarity with governance, compliance and CREST accreditation.
• Experience ensuring architectures follow secure-by-design principles.

Responsibilities

• Own the SOC architecture meeting regulatory and assurance requirements.
• Produce high- and low-level security control designs and testing requirements.
• Set and govern detection content standards, including rules and correlation logic.
• Act as technical authority for client security designs and roadmaps.
• Lead SOC maturity initiatives supporting CREST accreditation.
• Identify and introduce tech to boost analyst effectiveness, including automation and AI.

This is your opportunity to take true ownership of our end-to-end SOC architecture defining how our platforms, detections and controls evolve to meet client, regulatory and business needs. Youll play a key role in influencing how our services grow, introducing new technologies and embedding a strong security-by-design culture across everything we do.

This is a hybrid role, with 2 days per week based in Farnborough.

Please note: you must be eligible for SC and DV clearance.

What youll be doing:

• Owning the SOC architecture, ensuring designs, integrations and operating models meet regulatory and assurance requirements.
• Producing both high- and low-level security control designs, including defining testing requirements.
• Setting and governing standards for detection content, including rules, use cases and correlation logic.
• Acting as the technical authority for client security designs and technology roadmaps.
• Leading SOC maturity initiatives in support of CREST accreditation.
• Identifying and introducing technologies that enhance analyst effectiveness, including automation and AI

What youll bring:

• Proven experience designing or owning security architectures within SOC, MSSP or complex security environments.
• Strong understanding of detection engineering and SOC operations.
• Ability to oversee security platforms and integrations holistically.
• Knowledge of governance, compliance and accreditation frameworks such as CREST.
• Experience assuring technical architectures using secure-by-design principles.

Employment Type: Permanent.

Location: Hybrid fixed 2 days per week in Farnborough.
Security Clearance Level: SC cleared and eligible for DV clearance.
