Job summary

SiXworks, a specialist digital innovation partner, is seeking a SOC Analyst to monitor secure digital solutions in highly secure environments. You will work with engineers, architects and delivery specialists to enhance threat detection, response and security controls.

The role emphasizes incident management, vulnerability assessment and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, security‑driven culture supporting Defence and National Security missions.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in Security, SOC or related technical field with focus on Incident Management.
• Experience handling security incidents and using playbooks or playbook-like processes.
• Understanding of Vulnerability Management and remediation workflows.
• Knowledge of Cloud computing concepts and security considerations.
• Familiarity with Information Security (CIA) principles.
• Awareness of phishing, ransomware and other threats.

Responsibilities

• Lead shifts in 24/7 SOC service delivery.
• Provide oversight and guidance to Junior Analysts.
• Monitor systems for security alerts, intrusions or unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents using predefined playbooks.
• Escalate complex incidents to Tier 2 Incident Response teams.
• Review and improve security controls in a dynamic environment.
• Triage and review vulnerability reports; feed results to technical teams.
• Review secure configurations and coordinate remediations.
• Generate recurring security reports for stakeholders.
• Suggest service improvements to the SOC Manager.
• Stay updated on security threats and trends.
• Develop security knowledge through ongoing learning.

We're looking for a SOC Analyst who enjoys solving difficult technical challenges and wants their work to have real operational impact.

What You'll Do

As a SOC Analyst, you'll monitor secure digital solutions in highly secure environments. You'll work alongside engineers, architects, and delivery specialists to develop technology that enables faster, safer decision‑making for critical operations.

Your work may include:

• Leading shifts throughout 24/7 SOC Service Delivery
  
• Providing oversight and management to Junior Analysts
  
• Monitoring of Systems for Security Alerts, Intrusions or activity considered to be unauthorised, unexpected or illegal
  
• Responding to incidents, utilising a catalogue of playbooks
  
• Escalation of complex incidents to Tier 2 Incident Response Teams
  
• Review and develop existing security controls in line with a constantly growing technical environment
  
• Triage and Review Vulnerability Scanning Reports, feeding results back into technical teams
  
• Review Secure Configurations, feeding back into technical teams for remediations of issues
  
• Generate recurring service and security reports for key stakeholders
  
• Feedback service improvement ideas to the SOC Manager
  
• Keep up-to-date with the latest security threats and trends
  
• Research and develop understanding of security as a discipline
