Location/Division Specific Information:

Working as part of our Microbiology Division (MBD), within the Specialty Diagnostics Group, you’ll play an active part in helping us to achieve our mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer.

The Microbiology Division discovers microbiological solutions for the diagnosis of infectious disease and detection of bacterial contamination.

From Perth, we serve public health, clinical laboratories, food companies, environmental screening and pharmaceutical laboratories with a portfolio of products that include culture media, antimicrobial susceptibility testing solutions and market-leading molecular solutions for food safety testing.

How Will You Make an Impact?:

Join our Perth Quality Team as a Senior QC Technician and play a vital role in ensuring the quality and safety of our solid and liquid media products before they reach our customers. Your expertise in conducting QC tests will drive our commitment to excellence, aligning with our site strategy and team objectives. Your efforts will directly contribute to the success of our site strategy and departmental objectives while supporting our mission to enable our customers to make the world healthier, cleaner, and safer.

A Day in the Life:

  • Process Improvement: Implement process improvements to optimise efficiency and productivity in our quality control operations.
  • Quality Control: Conduct thorough inspections and tests to ensure that products meet stringent quality standards.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to align quality control processes with overall production goals.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation to support continuous improvement and compliance efforts.
  • Problem-Solving: Address any quality issues promptly and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.

Education: High School Diploma, Secondary Education, Advanced Certificate, or equivalent.

Experience:
  • Required: Minimum of 2 years of work experience in QA or QC or related field
  • Preferred: Experience in a cGMP environment or other highly regulated environment
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
  • Performance Under Pressure: Ability to work well in a fast-paced setting.
  • Microbiology Proficiency: Skilled in laboratory techniques including physical, fertility, performance, filtration, and contamination testing.
  • Computer Literacy: Proficient with computers and willing to learn new computer-based skills.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent focus on detail and a systematic problem-solving approach.
  • Teamwork and Independence: Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Reliability: Dependable and consistent in performance.
