Snr Primary Care MH Practitioner (SPCMHP) & Brief Intervention Worker

We are seeking a Band 7 Community Mental Health Nurse to join our new Initiating Treatment Team, established in April 2023.

This Brief Intervention Service offers short-term treatment, care, and support for individuals with mental health difficulties within the primary care sector. The role provides opportunities to network, build relationships with services and patients across the Primary Care Network.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our Primary Care Network Mental Health Team to review patient needs and initiate mental health treatments for various conditions. Responsibilities include promoting health and wellbeing through health promotion and education, as well as providing education, monitoring, and initiating mental health medication management in primary care.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the delivery of Community Primary Care Mental Health Services.

Main duties of the job

  • Demonstrate registration as a Mental Health Nurse (RMN)
  • Hold or be willing to undertake Non-Medical Prescribing Qualification
  • Evidence of Continued Professional Development (CPD)
  • Experience working within a Mental Health setting
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage stress effectively
  • Robust clinical judgment
  • Ability to work autonomously and assume responsibility appropriately
  • Participate in patient safety investigations and relevant inquiries in line with Trust policies
  • Mentor and supervise students
  • Develop innovative practices to meet service demands and manage clinical caseloads
  • Hold a valid UK driving license to travel to Primary Care Network bases and Trust sites
