Snr Manager, Finance Systems - Client Data Management

My client is a prestigious top International Law firm who are looking to hire a senior manager as part of the senior finance leadership team in finance systems.

This role specifically is responsible for the management and use of client and matter data within the firm's finance and billing systems. This role will be operating in an environment of change and evolution at the firm which provides great opportunities to identify and implement process improvements and strategic changes. These teams provide pro-active client data management from initial client onboarding, review, data quality improvement and analysis.

Core responsibilities:

  • Build and effectively manage teams responsible for creating, updating, improving and quality management of client data.
  • Responsible for the lifecycle of client data management from initial onboarding, updating throughout the transaction.
  • Ensure teams are effectively managing client portals.
  • Overall responsibility for leading the client data management teams.
  • Ensure effective eBilling and analyze rejections.
  • Recommend new software or software replacements to enhance client data management and keep finance and billing systems data and processes ahead of competitors.
  • Take responsibility for process, working practice and functional improvements.
  • Constantly work towards improving accuracy, consistency and timeliness of the data held to support accurate billing.
  • Provide strong leadership that drives delivery and innovation in the teams by empowering and developing others.
  • Set strategic direction and priorities for the team.
  • Responsible for the overall management and performance of the teams; embedding continuous performance review and best practice.
  • Onboard client requirements for financial matters into finance and billing systems.
  • Work with other teams across the firm to ensure timely and accurate updating whilst liaising with partners and other stakeholders.
  • Review invoice submission analytics to guide improvements in the quality of data collected.
  • Manage Outside Counsel Guidelines and Billing Guidelines.
  • Process improvements throughout the client data lifecycle.
  • Build relationships with clients and third-party vendors.
  • Act as point of escalation for issues raised by clients.
  • Ad hoc and ongoing process improvements and systems implementations.

Required experience / skills:

  • Experienced senior leader within client data management for a medium/large legal firm (large firm preferable).
  • Experienced managing sizeable teams within a matrix structure.
  • Strong technical/business acumen with the ability to influence strategic thinking.
  • Able to lead creative and pragmatic issue resolution and solution review.
  • Comprehensive experience and understanding of legal finance systems, along with extensive client onboarding and eBilling knowledge.
  • Experience of delivering measurable process change that supports continuous improvement.
  • Ability to drive forward initiatives within the team to ensure work is done to a high standard.
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
  • Hiring, training, appraising team members. Building a high-performance culture.
  • Excellent track record of working with senior management within a complex international organization.
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) minimum.
  • Accounting training or qualification is advantageous.
