Job description

Job Description

FTE

Salary: £25,000 - £40,000 FTE, Depending on Experience

We’re MannyAI — an AI startup on a mission to transform apparel manufacturing. Our software helps factories standardize and optimize production, from costing to operation breakdowns. We're now looking for an experienced Industrial Engineer with deep garment tech knowledge to help shape the next of our tools.

The Role

We’re looking for someone with strong expertise in Methods-Time Measurement (MTM), Standard Minute Value (SMV) creation, and factory-floor optimization. You'll work closely with our product and engineering teams to ensure our software reflects real-world factory logic — helping us digitize, standardize, and improve the way garments are costed and made.

Key Responsibilities

Sampling & SAM Derivation

  • Conduct virtual and real-world sampling to derive accurate SAMs across different production scenarios and product types.

Operation Breakdown Library Creation

  • Build a robust, modular library of operation sequences for womenswear garments (dresses, trousers, shirts, sweatshirts, etc.), ensuring accuracy and consistency across product categories.

Inform Product Development

  • Work closely with our tech team to ensure Seamstream.AI reflects real factory logic. You will test assumptions, contribute real-world edge cases, and help digitize what you know from hands-on experience.

Costing & Fabric Efficiency (Real-world expertise essential)

  • Use your costing knowledge to guide how our software calculates accurate cost sheets, derives fabric usage early in development, and suggests pricing options. Your input will shape our fabric consumption and cost modeling algorithms.

Method & Machine Standardization (Real-world expertise essential)

  • Bring deep knowledge of standardizing methods and machinery at the development stage to de-skill and streamline production. You’ll help translate this logic into standardized digital templates and decision trees.

Capacity Planning Support (Real-world expertise essential)

  • Use your understanding of chassis development, machine layout planning, and manpower allocation to guide how our tool models capacity and seasonality. Your expertise will ensure the tool supports smart planning and line balancing.

Process Optimization & Work Study (Real-world expertise essential)

  • Apply your knowledge of work study methods, motion analysis, and productivity improvement to help us create systems that identify bottlenecks, suggest better methods, and improve overall manufacturing efficiency — not just in theory, but grounded in how factories actually operate.
  • Trial Period: A compulsory two-week paid trial is required before the official start of the contract to ensure a mutual fit.
  • Start Date: ASAP
