Job description

A Vacancy at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

Trauma

To provide high-quality trauma and emergency anaesthesia within a one-to-one consultant supervised environment initially, and then manage cases within the major trauma centre with indirect supervision.

Regional

The post will be available as a full-time or part-time position. The job plan for a part-time post will be agreed upon with the Supervisor of the Post.

The post holder will undertake regular regional anaesthesia days and attend acute pain rounds. They will participate in the senior registrar on-call rota alongside other clinical fellows and ST 6-7 trainees at respective clinical sites. Currently, the rota is 1:8.

Clinical experience

ICHCT is shifting focus towards ambulatory surgery, providing comprehensive day surgery services in:

  • General surgery
  • Oncology (including breast, head and neck, and thyroid cancers)
  • Plastic surgery
  • Urology surgery
  • ENT surgery
  • Orthopaedic surgery

Regional Anaesthesia services are expanding to support ambulatory surgeries. The department is equipped with ultrasound machines and led by expert, fellowship-trained regional anaesthetists. Various blocks are performed to cater to ambulatory practice.
