Job description

Holt Engineering is seeking an SMT Machine Operator in Portsmouth!

Our manufacturing client is looking for an SMT Machine Operator to join their fast-growing business within the pick and place department.

As an SMT Machine Operator, you will be responsible for assembling Printed Circuit Boards using a variety of tools and equipment, including screen printers, pick & place machines, and reflow ovens.

Key requirements:
  • Good working knowledge of IPC-A-610 & IPC J-STD-001 (preferred)
  • Awareness & understanding of ESD controls
  • Ability to read and understand complex drawings and instructions
  • Understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 standards
  • Knowledge of SMT assembly equipment and processes
  • PC/IT literacy, including use of PCs and tablets
Responsibilities:
  • Build PCBs using SMT equipment
  • Work from technical drawings
  • Check work for compliance before passing to the next stage
  • Maintain accurate job history on route cards
  • Proactively communicate any issues affecting delivery or quality
  • Adhere to all health and safety, housekeeping, quality, and environmental policies

Working hours are Monday to Thursday, 7:30-16:30, and Friday, 7:30-12:30.
