Job summary

Holt Engineering in Poole is seeking an experienced SMT Operator to join a well-established electronics manufacturing team. You will operate screen printers, pick & place machines, and reflow ovens, while also handling AOI equipment and hand-assembly tasks as needed.

The role requires a hands-on approach, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work to tight schedules in a fast-paced environment. Training is provided, with opportunities to develop across the SMT process.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years' experience within an electronics manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience working within an SMT production environment.
• Good attention to detail and a strong focus on quality.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• A flexible approach and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
• IPC A-610 and/or IPC J-STD-001 knowledge/qualifications would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Operate screen printers, pick & place machines and reflow ovens.
• Operate and work with Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment.
• Carry out product verification and inspection to ensure quality standards.
• Hand build SMT assemblies where required.
• Monitor production against agreed timescales and meet delivery dates.
• Identify and report issues affecting quality, production or delivery deadlines.
• Carry out preventative maintenance tasks as required.
• Maintain a clean, tidy and organised production area.
• Follow all Health & Safety and ESD procedures.
• Work with the wider production team to achieve the production plan.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced SMT Operator to join an established manufacturing business in Poole. This is a hands-on production role working as part of an experienced SMT team, producing electronic assemblies to strict quality and delivery standards.

The Role

• Operating screen printers, pick & place machines and reflow ovens.
• Operating and working with Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) equipment.
• Carrying out product verification and inspection to ensure quality standards are maintained.
• Hand building SMT assemblies where required.
• Monitoring production against agreed timescales and ensuring customer delivery dates are achieved.
• Identifying and reporting issues that could affect quality, production or delivery deadlines.
• Carrying out preventative maintenance tasks as required.
• Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised production area.
• Following all company Health & Safety and ESD procedures.
• Working closely with the wider production team to ensure the production plan is achieved.

What We're Looking For

• Good computer skills, including knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
