Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced SME - Private Equity Administration to join their Global Private Capital Services team based in Jersey. This full-time position will involve the accurate administration and accounting of open and closed-ended investment companies, unit trusts, and limited partnerships with a focus on private equity, property, and infrastructure funds. The successful candidate will act as a subject matter expert, manage client relationships, and support the Head of Fund Accounting, with a strong emphasis on leadership, process improvement, and service delivery.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare and oversee monthly and quarterly management accounts for a portfolio of clients
  • Prepare and oversee annual financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP, US GAAP, IFRS, or AUS
  • Manage key deliverables in accordance with service level agreements or equivalent
  • Calculate management fees, carried interest, distribution amounts, and perform waterfall calculations
  • Manage year-end audits and respond to auditor queries
  • Ensure compliance with client documentation and internal processes and procedures
  • Investigate and respond to client queries
  • Attend client meetings and assist in preparing proposal documents and participating in new business pitches
  • Act as a subject matter expert and provide support to the Head of Fund Accounting
  • Contribute to and lead ad-hoc projects
  • Develop, review, and implement procedures, identifying areas for improvement
  • Remain up to date with technical developments in the fund industry
  • Coach, mentor, and supervise junior staff in accordance with HR policies

Job Requirements:

  • Professionally qualified accountant, ideally ACA or ACCA or equivalent
  • Proven ability to prepare final accounts from source documentation
  • Strong prioritisation and organisational skills with a focus on completing tasks efficiently
  • Able to work independently and under pressure to meet tight deadlines
  • Experienced in supervising and reviewing the work of junior staff
  • Excellent motivational, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Competent IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel
  • In-depth knowledge of UK GAAP, US GAAP, or IFRS (training available if required)
  • Understanding of private equity, property, and infrastructure funds is advantageous
  • Familiarity with Jersey fund structures and regulatory requirements is desirable
