Job Description

Holtec International and its subsidiary companies are designing a safe and secure source of clean energy using nuclear fission, called the Holtec SMR (Small Modular Reactor). The position is offered by SMR LLC as a member of the Holtec International family, a global turnkey supplier of equipment and systems for the nuclear, solar, geothermal, and fossil power sectors of the energy industry.

Job Description & Responsibilities:

• Utilize S3D (formerly SmartPlant 3D) to create 3D piping design models for the SMR plant, including equipment layout, pipe routing, pipe support design, maintenance and accessway volumes, etc.
• Maintain and verify the accuracy of the S3D model, resolving interferences as needed.
• Create piping isometrics, general equipment layout drawings, and material take-off lists.
• Apply piping best practices and principles when routing piping.
• Support procedure inputs and reviews as required.
• Build relationships to facilitate knowledge transfer, cross-functional collaboration, and effective presentation of work products.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 3 years of experience as a SmartPlant 3D Piping Designer.
• Relevant technical degree or equivalent experience.
• Strong knowledge of piping drafting and design standards and techniques.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to produce error-free documents.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and computer skills.

Optional Additional Qualifications:

• Completion of Intergraph/Hexagon certified training courses.
• Professional certification in Piping Design.
• Experience with other design and analysis software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Navisworks, Revit, and Cesar.
• Work experience in design or relevant engineering fields such as systems startup, field engineering, or plant operation in large industrial or utility plants.

Salary Range: $73,000 - $165,000
