Full 7 week training based at the state of the art National Dual Fuel Academy.

Our client is a business that believes in smart solutions – not just for the customers they serve, but for the people they work with. They are now recruiting additional Smart Meter Engineers (Electric).

Their Smart Meter Engineers are the face of what they do, playing a key role in delivering essential services while representing the values of safety, quality, and customer care.

With a growing portfolio and strong investment in innovation and people, they’re committed to giving the engineers the tools, training, and support they need to succeed.

As a Smart Meter Electrician, you’ll be visiting homes and businesses to carry out smart meter installations, maintenance, and testing. This is a customer-facing role, so we’re looking for someone with the right balance of technical expertise and people skills.

You’ll also act as a role model on the field – supporting less experienced engineers, spotting areas for improvement, and helping to deliver technical excellence every day.

Our client actively supports and encourages professional development including internal and external accredited courses, upskilling (get qualified for new technologies), study support and E-Learning and internal promotion.

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Installing and maintaining smart electric meters

  • Carrying out communication testing on metering systems and data loggers

  • Managing stock, tools, and vehicle in line with company standards

  • Working closely with the delivery support team to ensure job efficiency

What We’re Looking For:

  • Electrical competence certification or qualifications (required)

  • Experience in smart meter installation (desirable)

  • Strong technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills

  • A full UK driving licence

Benefits:

  • 25 holiday days per year with additional allocation of 8 public holidays (includes discretionary option to buy and sell).

  • Automatically qualify for an Employee Ownership scheme.

  • After 5 years’ service, you will be rewarded with an additional 5 day’s annual leave increasing your total to 30 personal days and 8 public holidays.

  • Own branded Company Van, a Mobile Phone and Tablet, Tools and Branded Uniform.

  • Training at their state-of-the-art Dual Fuel Engineer Academy.

  • Employee Assistance Programme (free access to counselling & support) with easy access via My Healthy Advantage app.

  • Access to SmartHealth app - includes a free 24/7 online GP and a range of wellbeing services.

  • Cycle Scheme - lower your carbon footprint whilst staying healthy.

  • Medicash Employee health plan - Medicash offer health plans that look after you and your family by providing a range of positive healthcare benefits. Even better, they also take care of the money side of things with cash back to cover costs such as dental and optical bills, physiotherapy and even offer retail discounts.

  • Enhanced Maternity, Paternity and Adoption policy.

  • Life Insurance cover where your next of kin will receive 4 times your annual salary.

  • Refer a friend bonus (£500).

  • Corporate season ticket travel.

  • Length of service cash incentive.

  • Automatic enrolment into the Company Stakeholder Pension Scheme from day 1, matched up to 5%.

  • Company Sick Pay for peace of mind.
