Where will you be working?

We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering and home decarbonisation.

This role will be within our Metering team, where we are the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, offering efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity and water meters.

Our meter readers install, maintain and manage meters to ensure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored.

What will you be doing?

As an engineer, you'll be responsible for the safe installation, maintenance and removal of smart meters. Do you enjoy working independently, chatting with customers and meeting new people?

Customer service is our top priority. You'll ensure all jobs are completed on time, and explain the benefits and safe usage of their new smart meters to customers. Do you like meeting new people and making a difference in their lives?

On a typical day, you'll complete the installation and removal of smart meters (SMETS2) in customers' homes, doing around 5 jobs per day. Interested in earning extra money? There's an uncapped bonus for additional jobs completed.

You will travel around your area using your tablet to see your schedule, which is available up to 2 weeks in advance.

Health and safety are at the core of everything we do. Additional training will be provided to ensure you're well-prepared and safe.

If you’re concerned about feeling isolated, you'll be supported through weekly meetings, catch-ups, and field managers who are always available to assist. No two days are the same, and you'll have many opportunities to excel.

What you’ll bring

• Valid UK driving licence - held for at least 1 year with less than 6 points.
• CCN1 / CMA1 / CMA3 with MET1, or NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel.
• Experience installing gas and electric smart meters.
• Previous MOCOPA experience to a multi-rate level.

Bonus qualifications like REGT1, 3 phase, or registration on the EUSR portal are a plus but not required.
