Where will you be working?

At M Group Energy, we're enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide an end-to-end service, delivering solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering, and home decarbonisation.

This role will be within our Metering team. You'll join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, providing efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity, and water meters. Our meter readers install, maintain, and manage meters to ensure customers are billed correctly and energy usage patterns are monitored.

What will you be doing?

As an engineer, you'll respond to emergency and maintenance appointments on behalf of EON, ensuring customers' Smart Meters are working correctly. Do you enjoy working independently, chatting to customers, and meeting new people?

Customer service is our top priority. You'll ensure all jobs are completed on time and explain the benefits and safe usage of their new smart meter. Do you like meeting new people and helping make a difference?

You'll complete the installation and removal of smart meters (SMETS2) in customers' homes, doing around 5 jobs per day. There's an uncapped bonus for any extra jobs completed.

You will travel around your area using your tablet to see your schedule, which is available up to 2 weeks in advance. Continuous training will be provided to develop your skills. 83% of our field management team have been promoted from technicians. For career longevity, opportunities are available.

Health and safety are prioritized. Your onboarding will prepare you to be an ambassador for safety. Weekly meetings, catch-ups, and field managers support you. No day is the same; endless opportunities to shine.

What you'll bring

  • Valid UK driving license
  • Held your license for at least 1 year with less than 6 points
  • Experience installing gas and electric smart meters; qualifications like CCN1 / CMA1 / CMA3 with MET1, or NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel
  • Previous MOCOPA experience to a multi-rate level

Bonus qualifications such as REGT1, 3-phase, or registration on the EUSR portal are a plus but not required.
