Job Description:

Right across infrastructure, there's a requirement to not only maintain but also renew and reimagine. Whatever stage you're at in your career, with us you'll have an opportunity to grow and develop. We deliver essential infrastructure services for life, prioritizing safety, customer satisfaction, and a friendly, respectful environment where you can thrive.

Where will you be working?

At M Group Energy, we're enabling the energy essential to support our lives. We provide end-to-end solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering, and home decarbonisation. This role is within our Metering team, the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, offering efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity, and water meters.

Our meter readers install, maintain, and manage meters to ensure accurate billing and monitor energy usage patterns.

Want to be part of it?

What will you be doing?

As an engineer, you'll respond to emergency and maintenance appointments on behalf of EON, ensuring customers' Smart Meters are working correctly. You enjoy working independently, chatting with customers, and meeting new people. Customer service is our top priority. You'll complete jobs on time and explain the benefits and safe usage of their new smart meters.

You will be installing and removing smart meters (SMETS2) in customers' homes, completing around 5 jobs per day. There is an uncapped bonus for additional jobs. You will travel around your area using your tablet to view your schedule, which is available up to 2 weeks in advance.

Continuous training will be provided to maintain and develop your skills. 83% of our field management team have been promoted from technician roles. We prioritize health and safety, and your onboarding will prepare you to be an ambassador for safety.

Worried about loneliness? Weekly meetings, catch-ups, and field managers are always available to support you. No two days are the same, and you'll have many opportunities to excel.

What you'll bring

  • Valid UK driving license
  • Held your license for at least 1 year with less than 6 points
  • Experience with CCN1 / CMA1 / CMA3 with MET1, or NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel
  • Experience installing gas and electric smart meters
  • Previous MOCOPA experience at a multi-rate level

If you have the following qualifications and skills, that's a plus but not required:

  • Additional qualifications like REGT1, 3-phase
  • Registered on the EUSR portal
