We deliver essential infrastructure services for life, prioritizing safety, customer-centricity, and a friendly, respectful environment where you are encouraged to thrive.

Where will you be working?

At M Group Energy, we're enabling the energy essential to support our lives.

We provide end-to-end solutions in electricity transmission, distribution, renewable energy, EV, metering, and home decarbonisation.

This role will be within our Metering team. You'll join the leading provider of metering services in the UK energy retail sector, offering efficient and flexible services for gas, electricity, and water meters.

Our meter readers install, maintain, and manage meters to ensure accurate billing and monitor energy usage patterns.

What will you be doing?

As an engineer, you'll respond to emergency and maintenance appointments on behalf of EON, ensuring customers' Smart Meters are functioning correctly. If you enjoy working independently, engaging with customers, and meeting new people, this role is for you.

Customer service is our top priority. You'll ensure all jobs are completed on time and explain the benefits and safe usage of their new smart meters to customers. If you like meeting new people and making a difference, you'll find this role rewarding.

Your day will include installing and removing smart meters (SMETS2) in customers' homes, completing around 5 jobs per day. There's an uncapped bonus for additional jobs you undertake.

You will travel around your area using your tablet to view your schedule, which is available up to 2 weeks in advance. Continuous training will be provided to develop your skills further. Notably, 83% of our field management team have been promoted from technician roles, offering career longevity.

Health and safety are at the core of everything we do. Your onboarding will prepare you to be an ambassador for safety, with ongoing training available. Weekly meetings and support from field managers ensure you're never alone in your role.

What you'll bring
  • Valid UK driving license (held for at least 1 year with fewer than 6 points)
  • Experience installing gas and electric smart meters, with qualifications such as CCN1 / CMA1 / CMA3 with MET1, or an NVQ Level 2 in Smart Metering Dual Fuel
  • Previous MOCOPA experience at a multi-rate level

Qualifications like REGT1, 3-phase, or registration on the EUSR portal are desirable but not mandatory.
