Job summary

Government Recruitment Service invites SEO Policy Advisors to help deliver the Smart Data Strategy within the DBT. You will contribute to a major programme to build an interoperable Smart Data economy across sectors, enabling secure, consent-based data sharing to spur innovation, efficiency and better decision-making.

• Analyse evidence, options, and governance for Smart Data schemes.
• Design and deliver sector-specific or cross-cutting policy work.

Responsibilities

• Support development of Smart Data policy for one or more priority sectors, working with other government departments, regulators and wider stakeholders to identify use cases, deliver plans and progress scheme design.
• Help design regulatory regimes for sector-specific Smart Data schemes, including calls for evidence, consultations and policy instructions.
• Support policy development relating to the legislative framework for Smart Data including further primary legislation.
• Develop cross-sectoral policy thinking for longer-term objectives.
• Gather and analyse evidence from industry, regulators, consumer groups and technical experts to inform policy options and recommendations.
• Coordinate inputs across legal, analytical, technical and policy teams to ensure robust scheme design.
• Support cross-cutting work on governance, standards, interoperability and trust.
• Prepare high-quality written products including submissions, policy papers and ministerial advice.
• Support stakeholder engagement across government, regulators, industry and consumer organisations.
• Track milestones, dependencies and risks, and support governance across the programme.
