Smallworld GIS Engineer (UK-based | No Sponsorship)

Type: Permanent | Full-time

We are seeking an experienced Smallworld GIS Engineer to join our team delivering advanced network and geospatial solutions for major utilities and telecom clients across the UK.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and customize GE Smallworld applications, including PNI and Electric Office (EO).
• Build GIS solutions using Magik, Java, and related technologies.
• Support integrations with Oracle, SQL, and VMDS databases.
• Deliver customer-specific customizations and ensure compliance with local regulatory and third-party systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement scalable, high-quality GIS solutions.

Requirements

• Strong hands-on experience with the GE Smallworld Product Suite (v4/v5).
• Proficiency in Magik programming and GIS solution design.
• Familiarity with PNI / Electric Office, SWMFS, VMDS, and Oracle/SQL.
• Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Desirable: Experience with ArcGIS, OpenGIS, Kubernetes (K8s), or cloud deployments.
