Job summary

QinetiQ Limited in Rosneath is seeking a Small Works Manager to lead and manage small maintenance, reactive and minor works across the LTPA and QE Estate, ensuring high service delivery. The role is 37 hours per week with travel to other sites and candidates must be eligible for SC clearance.

Essential qualifications include a HNC/HND in Building or Construction and a full driving licence, with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.

Responsibilities

• Integrating the project team within the business and ensuring a Health and Safety culture is embedded within the team.
• Defining and maintaining the overall aims and objectives of the works together with their relative priorities, and the overall scope of the Project.
• Defining and agreeing an appropriate budget, delivering the Project within this budget and managing and reporting progress against an agreed cost plan.
• Managing the activities of the external advisors, including the management of their appointments, via appointed Procurement Team Managers within QinetiQ.
• Providing technical support and knowledge to maintenance activities.

The Role

As a Small Works Manager, you’ll be a member of the Estates Delivery discipline within UK Defence Operations, the role will lead and manage small maintenance, reactive and minor works in support of the delivery of FM and estate management projects across the LTPA and QE Estate to ensure a high level of service delivery.

Day-to-day, you’ll organise small maintenance and minor works projects and support the delivery of larger projects in line with QinetiQ / MoD processes and legislation with the support of senior Project Management resources to further develop our competence within estates delivery.

Your responsibilities will include:

Essential experience of the Small Works Manager:

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• Developing interpersonal skills with an ability to deal with senior Project Managers on a day-to-day basis and as well as developing stakeholder management skills
• Understanding of certain aspects of Building Regulations
• Understanding of risk management processes and techniques
• Understanding of the Construction, Design Management (CDM) Regulations
• Computer literate with a good command of data manipulation, analysis and presentation using, mainly, MS Office suite

This role is 37 hours per week based at our Rosneath site. Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected (across the central belt). Overtime and travel costs will be financially covered.
