Job summary

CDS Small Works and Install Engineer in London and the South is seeking a versatile professional to install and service fire and security systems. The role covers minor installation works, commissioning, and remedial tasks, with emphasis on safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.

You will travel regionally, work independently, and support colleagues. The package includes up to £43,000 base, overtime and call-out, 25 days holiday, a company van, and pension benefits.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of technical experience in small works, installations, or service engineering.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Strong fault-finding, technical, and report-writing skills.
• Excellent communication abilities and customer-focused attitude.
• Willingness to travel across London & beyond.
• IT proficiency with reporting software, email, and service management.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation and commissioning on fire alarms, CCTV, access control and related systems.
• Diagnose faults, provide emergency call-out service, and maintain service records.
• Develop relationships with clients and support junior team members.
• Ensure compliance with British standards and health and safety policies.
• Maintain equipment, tools, and use PDA/mobile tools for scheduling and reporting.
