Small Works Commissioning Engineer

£34,000 -- £40,000 (Dependent on experience)

Do you have experience installing and commissioning Fire detection, fire alarms and other life safety systems?

Attega Group is currently partnering exclusively with our client in recruiting a small works commissioning engineer.

The main purpose of this role is to carry out install, commission work on all fire detection, fire alarm and other life safety systems.

This is a full-time, permanent role. The hours of work will be Monday to Friday 08:00am to 16:30pm.

Responsibilities
  • Liaise with admin team and project managers to identify requirements for sites highlighted for remedial works.
  • Review requirements and propose materials to undertake the works. Carry out works, commission and certify.
  • Conduct site visits to liaise with Client representatives.
  • Perform comprehensive testing of fire alarm systems to verify their functionality.
  • Conduct functional tests on individual components, as well as integrated system tests to ensure correct operation.
  • Commissioning of medium sized stand-alone systems and small networked systems.
  • Generate and maintain detailed documentation related to system installation and commissioning, including device test reports, compliance certificates, Q&A audits, H&S documents and as-built drawings.
Requirements / Ideal Candidate
  • Understanding of the installation and commissioning process for the FD&A and other life safety systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and address issues during the installation and commissioning process.
  • Good ability to use PC and modern word processing applications.
  • Ability to collaborate with project managers, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
  • Experience of FD&A systems integration to 3rd party systems.
  • Knowledge of cause-and-effect matrix.
  • Knowledge of AOV systems, PAVA Systems, Evacuation Systems & Security Systems would be an advantage.
  • Full UK driving Licence.
