Description

MS485 – Small Tools Engineer

Location: Birmingham

Salary: £28,000 – £31,000 per annum basic

Overview: First Military Recruitment is seeking a Small Tools Engineer on behalf of one of our clients.

This role involves inspecting garage equipment on customer sites, including traveling to large-scale commercial and industrial vehicle workshops within your geographical area. You will work on equipment such as car lifts, MOT testing equipment, air compressors, wheel alignment, tyre changers, wheel balancers, and other automotive tools.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; however, all candidates will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Inspect a wide range of garage equipment, including torque wrenches, portable lifting equipment, airline gauges, and small tooling.
  • Accurately complete and submit data entries on electronic devices, complying with the Quality System.
  • Follow health and safety laws and regulations.
  • Manage van stock to meet First Time Fix targets.
  • Satisfy customer needs.
  • Develop skills to ensure high-quality work.
  • Prepare for overnight stays.
  • Work overtime when required.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in a field service environment.
  • Experience with calibration and inspection of garage equipment.
  • Ability to follow procedures and work instructions to standards.
  • Proven customer service skills.
  • Willingness to work overtime and Saturdays.
  • Self-motivated and customer-focused.
  • Positive attitude towards problem-solving.
  • Confidence and initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Knowledge of UK geography is advantageous.
  • Full UK driving license is essential.
