Role Overview

Applications are invited for the position of Small Ferry Engineer to serve on the Sound of Harris route from Leverburgh to Berneray.

Responsibilities
  • Comply with the Company Management System and ISM Code.
  • Familiarize with machinery, equipment, and emergency procedures.
  • Maintain main and auxiliary machinery according to schedule.
  • Proper disposal of waste and oil sludge, documented in the Oil Record Book.
  • Report technical problems or breakdowns.
  • Ensure proper lighting and safety systems are operational.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in machinery spaces.
  • Coordinate repairs with the Technical Superintendent's office.
  • Maintain machinery space bilges and record disposal actions.
  • Assist in overhaul preparations.
  • Manage tools and spares responsibly.
  • Maintain the condition of machinery spaces and voids.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the Master/Skipper or Technical Superintendent.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Valid STCW Chief Engineer III/2 certification.
